Food is one of my favorite subjects. If there was a sport for eating, I’d sure hope to be considered an MVP. I come from a background where food is such a huge part of my culture. Coming from a Latino background, the way we show emotion, whether it is love, respect or importance, we show it through food. We’re little creators in the kitchen. And some of us get spicy about the ingredients we put into our dishes. It is an art form out of love.
For me, food is very nostalgic. It brings back so many special memories for myself. The moment I pick up a bag of Hot Cheetos or get a craving for a dish, it takes me back. I’m instantly reminded of a past memory and a feeling. Maybe that’s where my love for cooking developed and why it plays such a huge part of my day.
The main reason I was motivated to create SherMyAppetite was due to food allergies that I had developed, but evolving throughout the years, my reason is to share with you all my favorite memories in life. Memories that are reminiscent, cultural, have come out of necessity or places that I have traveled to and am fond of.
I dedicate this website to my grandparents above, my parents and siblings who were my first teachers in the kitchen and to my big appetite for giving me refined taste buds for only the tastier foods in life. XO
